Where to Go for Cocktails in Princeton

Whether it’s a guy’s night for a beer, a first or 300th date, or a girl’s evening to celebrate a promotion, spending time with friends and raising a glass to life makes everyone feel good. When you want to head out for a chat & a drink stop into one of these picks… and say hi to our favorite local bartenders for us.

Craig and Manny are the bartending duo at ONE 53. On Mondays it’s Adrienne at your service. Cocktails are special at ONE 53 – fresh squeezed fruit juices and martinis served in large classic glasses not the small saucer champagne glasses currently in vogue. At ONE 53 they aim to please. www.one53nj.com

The Alchemist and Barrister
Princeton’s cool craft destination: stop by the Alchemist and Barrister for Moscow Mule Mondays, Craft Beer Tuesdays, Prosecco Wednesdays or any time for their premier draft selections. Don’t miss their Happy Hour $5 bar menu. Do say hi to Mike while you’re there. www.theaandb.com

Witherspoon Grill
Everyone knows Will (their Beverage Coordinator) behind the bar at Witherspoon Grill. Will’s been tending the bar at Witherspoon Grill for over 10 years & has put together Wine Spectator award-winning wine lists, a great craft beer selection and cocktails using house-infused liquors. His pick? The Kentucky Old Fashioned. www.WitherspoonGrill.com

Bar news! Julio, the cocktail craftsman, is moving over from Eno Terra to join the fabulous team at Mediterra. When you are in the mood for tapas, a pour of terrific Cava or Spanish wine, Sangria or a specialty cocktail, head to the Mediterra Taverna and ask Julio what he recommends. www.mediterrarestaurant.com

Salt Creek Grille
Salt Creek Grille is no newcomer to the scene, but they have a few new cocktails that we are loving. Try the French 75, an historic cocktail dating back to WW1 made with Tanqueray & prosecco or the SCG Old Fashioned, a take on the classic with dashes of cherry bitters. We loved the Creek Spritz, a refreshing cocktail served as an aperitif in northeast Italy, made with Prosecco topped with Aperol or Campari. All three cocktails priced at $12. www.saltcreekgrille.com

Eno Terra
With local, seasonal, artisanal food, and a world class wine cellar from vineyards around the World, Eno Terra is just the spot to relax and enjoy the comforts in life. Daniel mans the bar and will steer you in the right direction whether it’s for a sparkling glass of Prosecco, happy hour bites or his specialty cocktail pours. www.enoterra.com
