Saturday May 12
It’s gardening season, and one of the things we’ve been thinking about as we plant is how to make our native pollinators happy. Mercer County Parks is ready to show local gardeners just that, with ‘Your Wild Yard,’ a workshop at the Hunt Barn on Blackwell Road. Wear long pants, a hat, and garden shoes to get hands on and learn about planting a native pollinator garden. Gloves and tools provided. $5, 9am. www.mercercountyparks.org
We love taking the little Scoops to the Princeton University Art Museum, and Saturday looks like it will be another fun outing! The museum hosts ‘Family Day: Line, Shape, Color,” a drop in event that includes art projects, stories, games, scavenger hunts, live performances, refreshments and more for the whole family! FREE, 10am-4pm. artmuseum.princeton.edu
Go on the hunt for wild edibles at Cherry Grove Farm’s “Forage the Farm” event. Start by scouring the meadows and fields for wild edibles, then use your ingredients for a ‘forest to fork’ style dinner! $65, 1pm. www.cherrygrovefarm.com
