The Playful Theater Productions presents the performance that is perfect for the Halloween weekend, the “Little Shop of Horrors”. This comic rock musical is based on Roger Corman’s horror flick of an alien plant with a taste for humans. In the spirit of Halloween, it’s the perfect show to watch with the kids. The show times are Fridays, Oct. 19 and 26 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Oct. 20 and 27 at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, Oct. 21 and 28 at 2 p.m. at the Kelsey Theatre located on the Mercer County Community College’s West Windsor campus. If you’re thinking of a way you can take the kids trick or treating in a safe environment where you can keep an eye on them, then the Trunk-or-Treat event happening on October 27th from 2-4 pm is perfect for you. With a costume contest and great music, your kids will enjoy trick or treating from car to car for goodies. South Brunswick Department of Parks and Recreation and LocalChatBox.com will be hosting another round of fun for the 2nd Annual Halloween Spooktacular on Sunday 28th from 12-3pm. Halloween weekend can also be a time to learn a little more about the magic of Halloween and the ecology of the creatures of the night. Join the SBMWA staff on October 20th from 7-9 pm for a family-friendly night hike on the Watershed Reserve trails in 31 Titus Mill Rd, Pennington, NJ. There will be no frights on this night hike, so no costumes please but make sure to bring a sense of adventure.
