Gymboree Play & Music of Princeton Provides “Play-Full” Parenting
When Sarah Moorcroft took over Gymboree Play and Music of Princeton in July of 2015, she dreamed of creating a warm and inviting space where parents, grandparents, caregivers and children could play, learn and spend quality time together. Sarah, a natural businesswoman with a love for kids, knew that she could bring Gymboree of Princeton back to life, although it turned out to be easier said than done.
Since taking over the space last year, Sarah and her team have been making continual improvements to the location. To start, new class options enriched an already exciting roster. Preschool Steps, School Skills and Sports are among these new and innovative classes and have proven to be very popular with the parents and kids!
About the Classes
Preschool Steps is designed for 2 to 3 year olds, incorporating play and learn time with their caretaker, then flowing seamlessly into separation time so the little ones can get used to playing on their own without mommy and daddy.
School Skills class that Gymboree of Princeton offers to 3 to 5 year olds is a two-hour drop-off class, which encourages cooperative play with an emphasis on letter recognition, alphabet sounds and writing, fine and gross motor skills as well as science and art. Children learn the valuable skills of how to listen to the teacher and the importance of teamwork.
Sports class is an interactive new class. The 3 to 5 year olds learn sports terminology and how to play a huge variety of sports—hockey, t-ball, basketball, tumbling, soccer, golf, racket sports, you name it–The kids enjoy playing these lively games together and learn some new skills in the process.
These new class options add variety to an already impressive selection of art and music classes and 5 days a week of Open Gym time, making it incredibly easy for families to work Gymboree classes into their schedules.
Classes are not the only new thing at Gymboree Play and Music of Princeton: many aesthetic changes have been made. The lobby is brighter and more welcoming with comfortable, new furnishings. The most recent addition to the space is the book corner, which was designed to provide a cozy space for the children to settle in and enjoy storybooks; it also coincides with the current literary theme of the classes which promotes a healthy love of reading to all Gymboree kids.
Sarah knows the key to Gymboree’s success is her team. Many of the teachers at are artistically and musically trained, thus bringing a depth and love of these subjects to the children in class. Their creativity, enthusiasm and drive allow them to conduct interactive and joyous classes that little ones crave and parents praise. Sarah encourages her teachers to share their knowledge in bringing new class ideas to help this warm and welcoming playspace grow.
Under Sarah and her team, Gymboree Play & Music of Princeton is ready to provide “play-full” parenting to Princeton and surrounding area families!
