Bring the family for a day of free fun, food, entertainment & community as Good Grief opens the doors of it’s new Princeton Center on Mapleton Road (just across Route 1 from the Princeton Hospital!)
Good Grief’s Ribbon Cutting and Community Celebration will include goods & food from some of our favorite Princeton businesses, like Small World Coffee, the bent spoon, Cherry Grove Organics, Lombardi Pizza Co.’s brick oven pizza truck, and more, in a farmer’s market-style festival backed music from a live DJ! Inside the new family center, follow along on a guided tour lead by Princeton Tour Company, take part in an enlightening workshop to better understand how to support grieving children, or join in a percussion workshop that focuses on non-verbal communication & storytelling.
So what’s the reason for this celebration? After several years of successful programming in Morristown, New Jersey, Good Grief established a center in Princeton in 2012 to meet the needs of Central New Jersey’s and Eastern Pennsylvania’s grieving families. Now having ended a three-month waitlist and expanded their Princeton location twice, Good Grief is excited to have found a new home at 5 Mapleton Road. Programs in both locations serve over 500 kids each month from more than 150 communities across the state!
Ten percent of New Jersey’s grieving children live in Mercer County, and Good Grief estimates that 20,000 New Jersey children will suffer the loss of a parent or sibling in 2015. The death of a parent or sibling is a time of crisis and, if handled with love and support, can eventually become a process of growth, healing, and transformation for children and their families. Good Grief works to ensure that no child has to grieve alone.
So come & welcome Good Grief home, meet the amazing staff, volunteers & families that make this organization special, and join in the community celebration. Can you attend? RSVP by email to firstname.lastname@example.org
